The Yamaha C2X is a larger, more rounded instrument than the smaller C1X. At 5'8'' in length the piano has a larger soundboard and longer strings than its smaller sibling and if space allows it is a very worthwhile upgrade.
The instrument retains the same excellent component quality of all Yamaha CX series pianos and has benefited from some recent design changes too.
New string material improves the tonal quality of the middle registers in particular, with a much greater level of sustain. The hammers are carefully produced using the same high quality felt as on the highly respected Yamaha concert instruments. This gives a wonderful clarity to the overall tone quality.
